TUBAFEEKO! – Clean energy for displaced families in Uganda

PORTBELL-LUZIRA, Uganda – The Uganda Junior Rangers and the association One Earth – One Ocean e. V. have joined forces in a pioneering project called “TUBAFEEKO!” to promote and implement clean energy for local and internationally displaced families in Uganda. The project aims to reduce the dependence on firewood caused by the basic needs of displaced people, leading to deforestation, increased carbon emissions and tensions with local communities.

The project includes the introduction, training and partial financing of clean energy for refugees. One Earth – One Ocean provides essential guidance and support for implementation.

The use of renewable resources and the conversion of organic waste into energy not only protects the environment, but also promotes the health of the communities concerned. The project aims to have a positive impact on the environment, society and the economy and to take a significant step towards sustainable development in Uganda.
