Marine debris

It's been almost a month since the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 went
missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.
The search continues, but it seems every new lead turns out to be little
more than floating junk.

So how much stuff is floating out there in oceans? What is it and where
does it come from? And what is it doing to marine life and ecosystems?
