OEOO Manila Supports Army-led Clean-up Campaigns
OEOO Manila has supported two clean-up campaigns led by the Philippine Army to remove waste from the beaches and protect the environment.
On April 22, the first clean-up took place near the Bulungan Fish Markets. With the support of volunteers from Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. and the La Huerta Fisher community, OEOO Manila and the army successfully cleared the beach of debris and pollution. By removing trash and plastic from the coastal area, not only was the beauty of the surroundings restored, but the wildlife that had suffered from pollution was also protected.
The second campaign occurred on April 29 and took place on the Las Pinas side of the LPPCHEA Peninsula. Once again, volunteers came together to clean the beaches and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Through the collaboration with the Philippine Army, OEOO Manila provided the necessary cleaning materials and mobilized a larger number of volunteers to ensure the success of the campaign.
OEOO Manila extends its sincere gratitude to all the participants, particularly the “1303rd Community Defence Center, Reserve Command, Philippine Army NCRRCDG,” as well as the volunteers from Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. and the La Huerta Fisher community. Through these joint efforts, a significant contribution has been made towards protecting the coastlines and the environment. OEOO Manila hopes for continued collaboration and similar actions in the future to keep the beaches and waters clean.
