The new German online magazine \u201c2050 \u2013 for a better future\u201d has not only published a frightening article on plastic waste with \u201cThe Flood\u201d<\/a>, but also presented 5 people from all over the world who are committed to combating plastic waste.<\/p>\n

Among them is Thaiane Maciel<\/strong> from Rio de Janeiro. Thaiane is a well-known actress in Brazil and has been involved in environmental protection since 2015. At the time, she founded her own environmental organisation, Canal Novo Mundo, and has since worked as an eco-influencer and, since the 2020 pandemic, as an organiser of regular cleanups in Guanabara Bay and the beaches of Rio.<\/p>\n

In this summer, the 29-year-old was named a \u201cGreen Citizen\u201d by UNESCO for her efforts.<\/p>\n

Because her goals fit ideally with those of oeoo Rio, she recently took over its management. We are very happy to welcome such a committed and passionate campaigner for the environment to our team.<\/p>\n
