Marine Debris Clean-up, Research and Education Programs:\n\nMarine Debris Clean-up, Research, and Education: The Sitka Sound Science\nCenter has been involved in Marine Debris research, cleanup, and\noutreach since our inception. We have partnered with the F\/V Cherokee\nand the Marine Conservation Alliance who have been cleaning Sitka area\nbeaches of marine debris since 2008. Together we have removed over\n80,000 pounds of marine debris from the Southeast outer coast.
