Wir konnten unzählige Kinder und Erwachsene erreichen, die sich begeistert für unsere Arbeit gegen Plastikmüll im Meer interessiert haben. Umweltbildung & Open Ship auf dem Müllsammelschiff SeeKuh Unser Infopavillon für den Meeresschutz war ein echter Publikumsmagnet: Unter dem Motto „Wissenschaft zum Anfassen“ durften Kids selbst aktiv werden, Wasserproben von unserem Müllsammelschiff SeeKuh entnehmen und diese im Pavillon unter dem Mikroskop auf Mikroplastik untersuchen. Die direkte Erfahrung vor Ort hat den Besuchern einmal mehr gezeigt, wie wichtig unsere weltweite Aufklärungs- und Bildungsarbeit ist. Ein weiteres Highlight waren die Schiffsbesichtigungen auf der SeeKuh, die direkt am Kai lag. Ein kleiner Besucher brachte es gestern perfekt auf den Punkt: „Ohne SeeKuh ist es keine Kieler Woche!“ Neben den vielen Bürgern durften wir uns sogar über den Besuch des schleswig-holsteinischen Ministerpräsidenten freuen, der sich ganz privat mit seiner Familie bei uns informierte. Kunst bewegt: Eine besondere Spende vor Ort Ein ganz besonderes Highlight gab es zudem am Rande der Festwoche: Wir durften eine Spende in Höhe von über 600 € persönlich entgegennehmen! Die wunderbare Künstlerin Susanne Reibe hat einen Teil ihrer Einnahmen an OEOO gespendet, um ein Zeichen für den Schutz der Ozeane zu setzen. Unter dem Motto „Kunst kann verbinden und etwas bewegen“ zeigt diese Aktion großartig, wie vielfältig Unterstützung für saubere Meere sein kann. Vielen Dank für diese wertvolle Hilfe! Umweltbildung & Open Ship auf dem Müllsammelschiff SeeKuh

Unser Infopavillon für den Meeresschutz war ein echter Publikumsmagnet: Unter dem Motto „Wissenschaft zum Anfassen“ durften Kids selbst aktiv werden, Wasserproben von unserem Müllsammelschiff SeeKuh entnehmen und diese im Pavillon unter dem Mikroskop auf Mikroplastik untersuchen. Die direkte Erfahrung vor Ort hat den Besuchern einmal mehr gezeigt, wie wichtig unsere weltweite Aufklärungs- und Bildungsarbeit ist.

Ein weiteres Highlight waren die Schiffsbesichtigungen auf der SeeKuh, die direkt am Kai lag. Ein kleiner Besucher brachte es gestern perfekt auf den Punkt: „Ohne SeeKuh ist es keine Kieler Woche!“ Neben den vielen Bürgern durften wir uns sogar über den Besuch des schleswig-holsteinischen Ministerpräsidenten freuen, der sich ganz privat mit seiner Familie bei uns informierte.

Darunter ist auch Thaiane Maciel aus Rio de Janeiro. Thaiane ist in Brasilien eine bekannte Schauspielerin und engagiert sich bereits seit 2015 für den Umweltschutz. Abstract
Every year, millions of pots and traps are lost in crustacean fisheries
around the world. Derelict fishing gear has been found to produce
several harmful environmental and ecological effects, however
socioeconomic consequences have been investigated less frequently. We
analyze the economic effects of a substantial derelict pot removal
program in the largest estuary of the United States, the Chesapeake Bay.
By combining spatially resolved data on derelict pot removals with
